Guttfield Architecture
Guttfield Architecture is a small, award-winning RIBA Chartered Architects Practice formed in 2011. Based in Berkshire, we work across the South East and London, helping clients create beautiful contemporary homes.
Our portfolio includes new buildings and extensions designed for a variety of challenging, protected and sensitive sites. Our buildings are designed to be practical, low-energy and long-life.
We find our clients’ interests and personalities an incredibly rich territory for design and developing close relationships with our clients is key to our approach. We take on a selected number of commissions to ensure that all clients receive a dedicated, detailed and personal service, led from inception to completion by practice founder Fred Guttfield. Fred is a member of the Reading Borough Council Design Review Panel, a RIBA Professional Examiner and RIBA Student Mentor. He studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture, where he is an occasional visiting critic.
The practice’s work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, London and published in books, magazines and newspapers including The Times, The Sunday Times, Architecture Today, Architectural Design, Grand Designs and the Evening Standard.
