Design Storey aspires to design beautiful homes by repurposing old buildings, or creating new ones, in order to enhance their client’s everyday lives. Based in elegant Oxford, designs are inspired by experiences working in both London and Vancouver, as well as the beautiful surroundings of Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.
Every project is treated as unique and the practice does not have a “house style”, tailoring each design to its context, site, and the client’s requirements. Each project has its own story, whether a listed building or commercial space, which is told through the design. The practice works on a variety of building at different scales, exploring how materials, rigorous design, and attention to detail can be used to create buildings that fulfil the client’s aspirations and have a strong connection to their unique surroundings.
Collaboration is key to the practice’s culture, recognising that everyone brings different strengths and perspectives to the table, clients become excited about possibilities and are fully engaged in the design process. The projects can go on to have a profound effect on clients, shaping their spaces and changing the way they live their lives.
